The Emotra EDOR test
The EDOR test is a test designed for detecting electrodermal hyporeactivity. The test equipment consists of the Emotra ECO-box, a couple of head phones and a laptop.
The sound for stimulation is produced by the ECO-box. Biological and other signals are collected also by the ECO-box and sent wireless to the specifically prepared laptop. They are displayed at the interactive screen with buttons for event marks.
The whole investigation procedure is guided from the beginning, before the subject enters the room, through the very test and through routines subsequent to the test. Resulting data are encouraged to be sent without identification (but for a one-way code) and coded to the servers of Emotra for analysis and interpretation by one of the specialists and one of the experts before the result is sent to a specified mail address of the customer.
It is important to understand that the EDOR test only deliver a numerical score for habituation. The use of that information is in the hands by the authorized doctor or other that is in charge for the suicide risk assessment in the clinic, or the scientist in charged in a research project. That is, the EDOR test is not diagnostic for anything other than for electrodermal hyporeactivity.
Test procedure:
After specific instructions from the authorized Test Leader, the subject puts two fingers of the non-dominant hand, the tip of the index finger the short golden electrode and the second finger on the longer electrode. Headphones are put on, and the test is started by the Test Leader when signals has become judged to be OK.
Now and then a moderately strong tone, always identical, is presented through the headphones in varying intervals during 15 minutes. The electrodermal activity, i.e. skin conduction, and blood volume, i.e. photoplethysmography, is recorded continuously together with other data, for control of quality of test and detection of artifacts.
